2025: A year of development and collaboration
As 2025 draws to a close, we’d like to take a look back at what has been an exciting year for Silicone Engineering, marked by compliance with key industry standards, significant product innovations, and strong engagement across the sector. Each milestone has been driven by the same focus: delivering high‑performance silicone solutions that meet real‑world requirements, align with regulatory expectations, and address evolving industry challenges.
February: expanding our compliance with key industry standards, UL 157 / UL 50E approval
Early in the year, we reached an important compliance milestone by achieving approval to the UL 157 and UL 50E standards for the kSil® GP (General Purpose) silicone sponge range. This recognition reinforces kSil® GP as a proven and trusted material for use in electrical enclosures, where performance consistency, environmental sealing, and regulatory assurance are essential.
For our customers who design or fabricate enclosures to NEMA and UL standards, this certification provides extra reassurance that kSil® GP has been independently tested and certified for key physical and environmental properties.

June: connecting at Foam Expo North America
June saw us return to Foam Expo North America, where we met with converters, OEMs and engineers from a range of industries across the region. Being able to connect with new and existing partners was fantastic, particularly as we were able to demonstrate our new silicone sponge innovations and closed-cell sponge sheeting.
The positive reception of both kSil® silicone sponge and expanSil® materials highlighted the growing demand for high-performance silicone sponges that balance durability, compliance and processability. We’d like to thank everyone who took the time to visit the stand, share their challenges and explore how Silicone Engineering can support their next project.

October: showcasing innovation at K Show 2025
In October, we headed to Düsseldorf for K Show 2025, one of the world’s biggest trade fairs for plastics and rubber. This was another wonderful opportunity for our team to connect with visitors from all sorts of industries and talk through their challenges and plans.
At the stand, we were able to showcase our ongoing innovation in silicone sponge and solid silicone materials, from advanced sealing solutions to flame-retardant and high-temperature materials.

December: introducing kSil®FR100 – the next generation
Designed with ultra‑lightweight construction, the capability to meet UL94 V‑0 performance requirements, and resilience across extreme temperature ranges, kSil® FR100 represents a significant step forward in safety‑critical material design.

GFA engagement & industry leadership
Industry collaboration remains a priority and, in 2026, we look forward to continued engagement with the Gasket Fabricators Association (GFA). GFA events are a brilliant forum for knowledge‑sharing, technical discussions and strengthening relationships across the sealing and fabrication community.
