Silicone Rubber for Military & Defence

In naval defence environments, materials must withstand constant exposure to moisture, pressure, vibration, and extreme operating conditions. Silicone Engineering manufactures high-performance solid and sponge silicone solutions engineered to protect mission-critical systems across submarines, frigates, autonomous underwater vehicles, and naval support equipment.

From watertight enclosure gaskets and hatch seals to vibration dampening and thermal insulation systems, our kSil™, expanSil™, and suraSil™ materials deliver excellent environmental sealing, flame resistance, and long-term durability in harsh marine environments.

We formulate and test materials to globally recognised standards including ASTM D1056, UL94 V-0, and FAR25, supporting reliable sealing and protection in demanding naval and underwater defence applications.

Acoustic & vibration insulation

Silicone materials help reduce onboard noise and mechanical stress, supporting crew comfort and protecting sensitive naval electronics and control systems.

Thermal insulation

Closed-cell sponge and solid silicone grades provide excellent thermal insulation in extreme temperatures, ideal for engine rooms, battery systems, and high-heat naval equipment.

Sealing profiles

Custom sponge and solid silicone extrusions, including tubing, cords, and profiles, are used to seal lighting units, sensor housings, and electrical enclosures across naval defence platforms.

Extreme Environments, Trusted Performance

From scorching deserts to freezing arctic conditions, military equipment must endure environments that push materials to their limits. That’s why Silicone Engineering’s materials are designed and tested to deliver consistent, high-performance sealing and insulation, even under extreme mechanical and environmental stress.

Our silicone sponge and solid rubber grades operate in temperatures ranging from -60°C to +230°C, maintaining flexibility, compression recovery, and sealing integrity in both static and dynamic applications. With UL94 V-0 flame retardant ratings available across our V-0 and 2D series grades, our materials also help reduce fire risk in enclosed or high-heat environments.
