Silicone Engineering is pleased to announce that our new metectSil™ NG 60 grade has met both BfR and FDA approval.
The next generation of metal-detectable silicone is available in 60 shore and comes in jet black, the new product is equipped with both US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and German Bundesinstitut Für Risikobewertung (BfR) food standard approvals.
Metal detectable silicone was first created for the food and beverage industry seals, helping to identify eroding seal particles, which would be recognised by an in-line metal detector, preventing them from entering the process line. Once contamination was identified, the production process could be immediately stopped, contaminated products segregated and the seal replaced or the process modified to eliminate the issue.
