Silicone Engineering has developed a revolutionary material, designed to dramatically increase productivity in manufacturing.
There is widespread global concern about the risk of silicone particles from machinery contaminating production lines, particularly industries associated with food, drink and pharmaceuticals.
In response to this problem, Silicone Engineering created metectSil™, an innovative material which will detect any contamination on production lines.
With metectSil™ silicone seal and gasket technology, companies can quickly and efficiently detect any potential contamination.
Using in-line metal detection systems, metectSil™ allows detection of any eroding particles entering the process line.
Production is stopped quickly, contaminated products are segregated and process lines are maintained to rectify the problem.
Tony Peel, Marketing Director at Silicone Engineering, said: “Using metectSil™, the risk of production downtime and probability of waste being produced is virtually eliminated.
“But don’t take our word for it. The product has been vigorously tested and the outstanding results are available for customers to view.”
metectSil™ is highly resistant to degradation from chemical and environmental factors.
Suitable for use in a range of demanding environments, it is also resistant to ozone, oxidation, ultraviolet light, corona discharges, cosmic radiation, ionising radiation and general weathering.
metectSil™ can be withstand extreme temperatures ranging from -60°C to 230°C and can be manufactured to endure even environmental extremes if so desired.
Silicone Engineering produces three detection strengths of solid metectSil™, as well as producing it in sponge form.
The three forms of solid metectSil™ are typically used in silicone rubber seals and gaskets.
metectSil™ has been tested extensively and complies with the requirements of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Using metectSil™, you can:
- Enhance your industrial reputation due to reduced downtime and increased safety
- Reduce your costs
- Reduce the likelihood of customer complaints
- Make it easier to schedule planned maintenance
- Lower your insurance premiums
