Silicone Engineering’s kSil® Silicone Sponge Sheeting has met WRAS approval which incorporates meeting the requirements of BS6920-1:2000 and 2014 ‘Suitability of non-metallic products for use in contact with water intended for human consumption with regard to their effect on the quality of water’.

The Water Regulations Advisory Scheme is funded by all of the UK water supplies to provide an advisory service for water regulations. Our Senior Material Technologist David Harris said this of the recent re-approval, ‘Silicone Engineering is committed to maintaining and expanding our range of regulatory and industry-standard qualifications. We work with independent and authoritative testing experts to give assurance and prove compliance.’

Silicone Engineering have had a range of solid and sponge silicone grades approved to WRAS, which approves the materials to be used in contact with water up to 85°C (185°F).

The WRAS approval covers our general purpose silicone sponge sheeting range which includes the following grades:

kSil® GP200, kSil® GP250, kSil® GP350, kSil® GP400, kSil® GP400 and kSil® GP530.
