Silicone Engineering’s Marketing Researcher Weisy Chan is taking part in one of Tough Mudder’s challenge events on the 5th October 2013. Tough Mudder is described as ‘one of the toughest events on the planet’; it is a hardcore, 12 mile-long obstacle course, designed by the Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. The course is full of nasty surprises such as electric wires, ice cold plunge pools and mud baths. Weisy is taking part in this gruelling challenge to raise money for the very worthy charity ‘Help for Heroes’, whose work helps and supports injured service men and women in the British Armed Forces.
So far Weisy has managed to raise a whopping £260 with a generous push from Silicone Engineering. Weisy said of the event “Have you ever woke up and thought you want to do something out of the ordinary? I did just that. I started off with a charity Skydive for St Catherine’s Hospice and saw the benefits my input had. After that, I promised myself I would do more to raise money for charity. Tough Mudder adverts appeared on social sites and I saw that the charity was ‘Help for Heroes’, something which made me more determined to get involved in.”
”Since the beginning of 2013 I have been training very hard before and after work, making sure I am physically and mentally ready for this challenge. I am really looking forward to completing the challenge and showing the Heroes my support.”
Everyone at Silicone Engineering would like to wish Weisy the best of luck for the challenge, just watch out for those electric fences!
